What is Marvel's Wolverine?
Marvel's Wolverine is a single-player, story-driven action-adventure built exclusively for PS5 by Insomniac Games, the studio behind Marvel's Spider-Man. You play as James 'Logan' Howlett, an amnesiac mutant who returns to his old unit Team X and follows the trail of abducted mutants straight to industrialist Bolivar Trask and his Reavers.
Combat is close, fast and unapologetically M-rated: claw combos, brutal finishers and a Rage system that rewards staying in the fight. Between story missions you explore the frozen Canadian wilderness, the neon streets of Tokyo and Madripoor's Hightown and Lowtown, taking on optional Nightmare Door challenges and unlocking cosmetic suits and claw sets as you go.

No, Marvel's Wolverine is not open world. IGN's hands-on describes it as a traditional linear AAA action game, and Insomniac has deliberately stepped away from the open-city design of the Spider-Man series. You get linear story chapters across three regions, plus explorable hub areas and optional challenges.
Insomniac never published an official campaign length, but reviewers who finished the game before the September 15 embargo lifted converge on roughly 15 hours for the main story on normal difficulty. One reviewer who went on to Platinum the game reached it about seven hours after the credits, putting full completion near 22 hours. Against HowLongToBeat's medians that is about two hours shorter than Marvel's Spider-Man 2 on the main story and roughly six and a half hours shorter to full completion — the gap widens after the credits because there is no open world left to clean up.
New Game Plus carries over everything you unlocked: suits and the health upgrades crafting them granted, claw styles, Techniques, Adaptations and your player level. On top of that it adds Techniques unobtainable in a first playthrough, raised level caps above player 36 and Adaptation 10, and NG+ only Adaptations that work as difficulty modifiers. It shipped at launch rather than in a later patch, and no trophy requires it.
As checked October 14, 2026, PlayStation lists Marvel's Wolverine for PS5, with no announced retail PC version or PC release date. You can use a compatible PC as a screen through PS Remote Play, but a PS5 running your copy of the game is still required. A leaked development build or emulator clip is a different case and does not establish an official PC port.

- Yes. The game runs on PS5 and PS5 Pro, with PSSR support on Pro hardware. There is no PS4 version. The game is rated M 17+ for blood and gore, intense violence and strong language.
